Another month gone by means another palette for #opgivewarmth! I've been a bit absent from the IG hashtag this month but I'll be packing for Camp StitchALot tomorrow night and I can tell you one thing that will definitely be in tow... our April and May blocks!
And for those of you who missed the announcement (or would like a refresher), this project is a monthly callout for charity blocks that will benefit My Very Own Blanket (specifically, children in the Indiana foster care system). All styles and piecing methods are welcome. I only ask two things: (1) that your block(s) fits a 3" grid system (i.e. finished sizes of 3", 6", 9", 12", 15", etc.), and (2) that they mesh with that (or any prior) month's color palette.

I made two 9" (finished) blocks for you! I ran a little late (unsurprising ;) ) so they'll be heading your way early next week.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great initiative! It's awesome to see people coming together to make a real difference for kids in need, especially those in the foster care system. The 3" grid system makes it super accessible too – I might even try to whip up a block myself. It's almost as addictive as playing Pokerogue and Pokerogue Dex !
ReplyDeleteI get the logic behind skipping the hat indoors, but isn't there a middle ground? My hands stay freezing even with layers, so I wonder if some of us just need the extra insulation. Curious how you handle that without just suffering through it.

This is such a wonderful initiative! It's so inspiring to see the creativity and generosity in the quilting community come together for such a great cause. I've been a bit swamped lately, mostly with work and trying to beat my high score in Drive Mad, but I'm hoping to jump back into some crafting soon. The idea of contributing to something so meaningful for children in foster care is truly heartwarming. Do you ever find that specific color palettes inspire different quilting patterns for you?
